Straw in incubator?

My eggs keep rolling in the incubator, can I put straw or sawdust in to help keep them steady without risk of a fire?

Why not put a toothpick or drinking straw piece? Something small.

i wondered about straw too. i mean thats what they hatch on with a momma. i wonder how it would affect humidity? i wonder if its a good idea?

I did something like that with shavings.. Raised the humidity too high and lost the entire batch because of it. They all fully developed but didn't lose enough weight to be able to hatch out... It was sad!!!

I use the foam rubber 'rug no slide' underlays, they are similar to the foam rubber shelf liners that many use but they are thicker an in my experience stop the eggs from rolling better and provide plenty of grip for the hatching chicks to prevent splayed leg...
