Stray Peacock!!

All you need is a long piece of heavy wire. Fashion an open hook on one end and hook one of his feet when he's eating or something. We have a hook that is about 4 feet long. Works like a charm.

I don't mead to hijack your thread or anything, but...
I just went out to check on my chickens... and there was a peacock out there!!!!
What are the chances of it trying to roost with my hens? I usually go out at dusk & close the coop door. Might it go inside?
I can only wish.

Well some good news!

I was able to get him this evening. I was able to net him with a fishing net fairly easily with help of a couple others. He seems very friendly so I'm sure he must have got escaped from a good home.

If we can't find the owners then we will give him a good home and find him a mate. He does not have a train of tail feather so do you think he is young or in moult?? On to learning more about peafowl... Here is a pic....

Ohh... he's pretty.
The one that showed up at our barn & coop was afraid of me... it flew into the trees whenever I got too close.
Congratulations on the peacock!

A yearling peacock , indiablue he will get a short train next year and will breed. Get him a peahen. The net works when you can get within 3 foot of one, good job!!

Paganbird, feed your birds in the coop, he may go in.

If you have a large dog cage start feeding him in there. then the rope on the door.
