Stroke like symptoms
Does anyone know what the following symptoms might be?
I have had 4 birds die over the last 6 months, since the first death I have slowly put a pattern together of what happens.
At first the chook, starts sitting around, still has an appetite but doesn’t eat as much as normal though.
Then it seems to have a sore leg, then its balance goes, either tipping sideways or tipping face down, by now its not eating very much at all and just sits, finally it can’t sit up, it can only fall over sideways, legs by now are more than likely spread out in odd directions, giving the impression that the bird has had a stroke & it is no longer eating or drinking.
This process takes about a week to get to the point when you realize there is nothing you can do.
The balance thing made me think of an inner ear problem, the way the legs end up spreading out at odd angles doesn’t seem to support that idea. But I could be wrong
I have had to put all of these birds down myself as I just ran out of ideas. The first one I thought she had had a stroke, but the other 3 have lead me to believe it’s something else.
Any help would be most appreciated
