Out of my five two-week old chicks, my Cuckoo Maran is the hardest to handle. I have held everyone of the chicks every day so far however the Cuckoo Maran continues to scream and run away when she sees me. When I pick her up, she continues to scream and flaps her wings to make it nearly impossible for me to hold her. Does anyone have any tips on how I can begin to receive this chick's trust be able to handle her better? I appreciate all of your chicken knowledge!!!

I have several who are simply flighty. they're not into cuddling.
Maybe it's a marans thing?

Try using a heating pad when holding the chick. Sometimes when they feel the really cozy warmth they will doze off and that seems to help with the bonding. I don't know exactly how much merit it holds, but it seems that the chicks who fall asleep with me in the warmth of the heating pad seem to bond a little more/better.
