Well that's what happens when you live in the suburbs, stupid people can't control their stupid cats. out of my whole street and near me only one person owns a cat that stays inside. 4 of my chicks have there heads missing I heard a cat meowing 3 times last night 2am 4am and 7am each time I scared them away. he stricken quiet the last time. I had also trun on the lights in the backyard so they can see. tonight I am goanna camp in the backyard and do idk what. but something

.

Time to make a trip to Lowes and beef up security and add more to the remaining (hopefully 3, if the attacked one makes it.)

Are you positive it was a cat? Did you see it? I say that because missing heads is usually indicative of other predators like raccoons.

At first I thought it was a rat, but My mom told me she heard meowing and scared off cats 2 times only the head is missing so I am assuming the cat got its paws in there and pulled what ever it could.

hmm, that really doesn't sound like a cat. Raccoons do that with their 'hands' though. They are extremely crafty. Cats would be more likely to shred with their claws rather than 'pull off' pieces of meat with their 'hands' like raccoons and bring it through the hole and to their mouths. I'm just judging by my own cats for that though. They tend to lack the strength needed to pull and rip off meat. Weasels can also fit through some pretty small holes as well and can devastate a flock. Opossums and skunks, too. 1/2" and 1/4" Hardware cloth is good at keeping out predator 'hands' and also snakes. It's a bit pricey, but worth the money IMO. A good yard dog is great at predator protection, too. There's also trapping, but if you've got a problem with roaming cats you'd be more likely to catch one of them instead of the actual culprit as predators like foxes, for example, can be quite cunning and difficult to trap. I hear raccoons like marshmallows as a tip. Weird, but supposed to work.
