my silkies been mega broody for the last few weeks so i got a few EE chicks from a local pet store for her to raise. they’re a few weeks old and look 100% healthy and alert but now i’m wondering if it’s a stupid idea to introduce new chicks to her while there’s an avian flu spike. is it okay to put them with her, or should i raise them myself? thanks :)

Have there been cases near you? I'm not near any cases and plan to buy chicks as long as that doesn't change. Everyone will have different acceptable risk levels, and that's OK.

Edited to add that I don't think raising yourself vs a broody would make a difference. We can't maintain sterile conditions in a home setting.
