Wanted to know what is a good substitute for Chick Grit????....I have them on 20% starter grower and I hear that's fine as long as i don't give them anything else I just kind of started wanting to introduce them to treats...

Thanks,Collin

You can use sand, or if they're outside they'll pick up their own 'grit' scratching around. I've also heard people use baby parakeet grit, but that has extra calcium in it that chicks don't need.

Chick grit is much finer than regular Chicken grit. I wouldn't use the parkeet grit because of the calcium.

I Wasn't going to use parakeet grit(I don't own Parakeets even if I did I still Wouldn't use it) But what kind of sand Play sand mason sand???

I get sand and finely crushed gravel from my driveway. The rain washes the really fine stuff down to one area, so I just get them a scoop full of it.
