Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? First had chickens in high school, a sweet but bossy RIR named Mary was my favorite.

How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 2 hens we adopted off of Craigslist last year. One recently went broody & she's sitting on a clutch of 12 eggs expected to hatch this weekend.

What breeds do you have? 2 Buff Orpington hens (of unknown age), broody hen is sitting on 2 copper marans, 1 Olive Egger, 3 Easter Egger, & 6 barnyard mix.

What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, sewing, knitting, painting... Pretty much anything crafty.

We're a homeschooling family. No other pets currently.

Super adorable! I think there are a couple more but I haven't seen them yet. Lots of little chirps coming from under our broody. Looks like she gonna be a great foster mama.

We're up to 4 chicks! The little black one was definitely the first, the other 3 are stilll drying off. The olive egger has hatched (but I have no idea which chick it is) but easter eggers & marans haven't hatched yet. So stinking excited!

We lost one of the marans :hit It got stuck in the membrane I guess. When I found it the shell was mostly cracked off the body but a bit was stuck to one side of it's head & the membrane was dry/hard around it's body. Yolk sac was fully absorbed though. So we're at 5 of 12 hatched & 4 live chicks. The 4 chicks are starting to get adventurous & exploring a bit.
