Hi all,

Am currently treating my duck for bumblefoot. My mother in law, a retired nurse (for humans!) suggested applying sudacrem to act as a barrier to the outside air. Any advice on this?

First you have to get the infection out which with soaking in warm Epsom salt water will soften the scab so you can eventually peel it off then the core can be removed Once core is out then apply the sudacrem and wrap till the hole is healed over. Poultry pus is thick not runny so most of the time we have to take sterile tweezers and pull the bumble out. Actually triple antibiotic would be better after the bumble is removed. If you can get a pic up for us that would help.
