Sudden fighting

I have 5 hybrid pullets that are about 24 weeks old. They came from a lady that had them all together from a few days old. Last Saturday I lost 1, she died suddenly, and I have no idea as to why. Today I noticed a lot of pecking going on between the 5 left, could it be that since 1 has gone, they are re-establishing a new pecking order?

Absolutely. The pecking order is fluid and ever changing. Her absence has disrupted things, and the rest are now readjusting.
