Flock: 5 hens (2 RI Reds, 1 Delaware (white), 1 Ameraucana (Black), 1 mix Ameraucana (gray))
Age: 1yr 6mos (all)
Ameraucana (black) is sick...she's generally very "chatty"
Today: All 5 girls came out of the coop this morning looking just fine. About 2hrs later I couldn't find the black one...she was standing alone (under my truck). Typically I can pick her up with a minor amount of resistance--today I picked her up with no resistance.
Background: Of the 5 hens, the black one has been broody 3 times, but is not currently broody. Lays light-blue egg regularly..amost daily. While broody, she plucks her belly feathers, so her feathers are thin in that area. I usually break her from the broody (takes about 3 days); then she doesn't lay for another 10 days ish. She's always the chatty-est hen. She is not bullied; she can hold her own and doesn't get pushed around. She has looked sort of raggedy (disheveled) for about a month; I just figured she's nearing time to molt, as well as recovering from broody.
SICK: Very lethargic. I haven't noticed her poop (the gray had coccidiosis last year and her poop was bright green and runny). When I picked her up today, she was very weak and didn't resist.
TREATMENT: Suspecting coccidiosis so I administered a direct-in-mouth dose of CORID (less than 1mil). She didn't fight me opening her mouth and I slowly drizzled the very tiny amount directly. I prepared a gallon of water mix with CORID (a little less than 2 tsps). I have isolated her with the water and some feed.

ANY THOUGHTS APPRECIATED! --dan

Hi! I would dose her with calcium citrate. Esp if she's been broody. How's her appetite?
She's not been broody for about 6 wks.
Appetite: seemed fine yesterday; no obvious sign of not eating.
Calcium citrate: "Dose"? how much? Liquid or tablet?
She has access to the oyster shells like the other hens; I see them all take some from time to time. Until today, no issue with laying an egg.
UPDATE: It's been about 4hrs since I isolated her. She's still "just standing" in nearly the same spot as I left her earlier.

No, she's not heavy. (I don't believe it's an "egg stuck" issue...although, I've never dealt with that.
Feed: KALMBACH, HENHOUSE RESERVE. (have always used that since they were old enough to eat real feed)
UPDATE: Offered her some treats (cabbage, carrots). Not touching it. Just standing (not sitting)

Dosing with calcium citrate doesn't always relate to laying, an imbalance in calcium and magnesium will cause all her parasympathetic systems to be out of alignment, same as us humans.

Thanks. She laid an egg (normal). She's a bit more mobile than earlier today.. but still slow. Is this the item you recommend?
