I've had my chicks for 1 week now and they are very good about eating their chick feed. My question is when can they have their suet treat? Are they still too young? I don't want to give them direaha.

Hi there and welcome to the flock :jumpy!

I would hold off on that. Suet is pretty much pure fat. A safer and more advantageous “treat” would be a clump of grass, roots, soil, and all. This gives them the greens they’d be getting if they were cruising outside with a mother hen, and also the microbes from the soil - good for their intestinal flora, plus something to pick through for entertainment. Try to find clean grass- no herbicides or pesticides. And let their chick crumble be their primary food.

If you have wild birds there, song birds, they would LOVE your suet treat.
