Suggestions for duck/chick condo or duplex?

I appreciate the suggestions and link/cites about my duck/chicken housing situation. It helped seeing Brenda's since coop too. My cousin is a retired carpenter and has agreed to help me build a coop once I come up with a plan. I'll post a photo when the new abode is finished.

I would recommend building a small "dog house" for the calls to go into at night, just make sure it has a door that you can close to protect them from preditors. Also ventilation is really important for the ducks, you will still have to change their bedding about once a week. I use wood shavings from TSC and it seems to work best with the ducks.

You could just put the dog house in the coop run, the chickens wont care and should go into their chicken house fine as long as you have a roost for them. I would also make sure to purchase and use a small kiddie pool for the ducks, they really need to get in the water to stay healthy and warm. Their feathers will start looking really bad and sticking together without a regular bath and this effects their ability to stay warm in the winter.
