We have a converted 8x8 shed with dirt flooring, the run is 8×12. We had 4days of rain and now the run is a mess. Thankfully the coop actually stayed dry except for a tiny leak in the roof in one place that we will patch. Trying to decide the cheapest but most effective stuff I can put down on the floor in both the run and the coop. Currently in the coop we have dried leaves and grass clippings.

Sand is awesome and very inexpensive. I bought sharp sand and it works really well for me. I live in Michigan and it has been raining quite often, the sand dries much quicker than the dirt. It's also very easy to keep clean with a litter scooper. It takes me about 10-15 min every two weeks to keep everything clean.
