Here's what I have in my coop right now:

Pearl White Leghorn (1 Rooster, 4 Hens)
Black Australorp (1 Rooster, 4 Hens)
Turken/Naked Neck (1 Red Rooster w/yellow legs, 2 Red Hens w/dark legs, & 1 Black Hen w/dark legs)
Golden Laced Wyandotte (1 Rooster)
Easter Egger/Americauna (5 Roosters w/red heads and mostly black bodies, 1 Hen w/orange-yellow head and some specks, & 1 Hen that is black with silver specks)
Blue Cochin (believed to be a Hen that is white in appearance)
Barred Rock/Easter Egger Cross (1 Rooster, looks like a Barred Rock)
Barred Rock/Easter Egger/Buff Orpington Cross (1 Rooster, very unique mostly buff colored w/barring, muffs & beard)
Unknown Red (1 Red Hen w/dark legs)

Anybody have suggestions for some fun/good crosses? Let me know what you suggest and why. The hens aren't laying yet, but it'll be fun to plan! We'll also be helping supply the kids at school with eggs to hatch this spring so something they would enjoy and help them make a profit for their fundraiser would be good.

Side-notes: We're getting ready to butcher and will be butchering 4 of the Easter Egger/Americauna Roosters and likely the Barred Rock looking cross Rooster. We may also be butchering the other cross Rooster because our Rooster:Hen ration is pretty high...but man that buff colored cross is pretty :) We're also hoping to add Delawares and/or Speckled Sussex and maybe some meat breeds but that won't be until next year at the earliest, but any fun crosses with those would be nice to know too.

THANKS!!

I have NO idea if this is a hybrid, but I have heard that a Sizzle (Silkie hen and Frizzle Cochin rooster) is a fun mix! Good luck! :)

Bantam Mottled Cochin with a Standard size White Crested Black polish. the results for me were hilarious! This is my hen, although the pics are not up to date.

Thanks ChattyChickens4Life & Poultrylord for the suggestions!

Just to clarify...while I LOVE seeing the beautiful crosses and ideas...I would really like suggestions consisting of the breeds of chickens I already have ;)

I'm thinking my GLW crossed on basically any of my hens could make some beautifully patterned birds. Might be extra fun to cross with the Turkens/Naked Necks or my EEs :D
I'm also thinking that my Black Australorp roo crossed on the Leghorns could make decent meat birds...thoughts?
As far as egg color from hybrids goes...would anything I already have cross with my EE hens or roos have a good chance at making some unique colored eggs?

Thanks again :)

Black Australorp X White Leghorn = Austra-White. Look up on the Cackle website to see the results. A popular cross to give a bigger, meatier layer that is calmer than the Leghorn.

Thanks Parront!

I just checked them out and that definitely looks like a cross I will want to try! I wonder what the Leghorn roo over the Black Australorp hens will produce... Might have to do an experiment to see how each cross compares!

Skinny white egg-laying machines, would be my bet!

I crossed some turkens with some cochins once. They grew about as well as any non-broiler chicken I've ever raised. Feathered leg sand naked necks. They were definitely unique.
