So we purchased this shed from wayfair in the hope of turning it into a home for our chickens. Basically we have two small coops in a 12x10 fenced area. We are going to remove a panel in the fence and have the doors open into the fenced area so the chickens will actually GAIN space once we remove the smaller coops. But we need some suggestions in what we can do to make it homey for our flock. The shed is 6' x 5' and we do have a wide range of types of chickens

Windows and ventilation will need to be added. You may want a people door for you to enter the coop from the outside. I would add hardware cloth so that the predators can’t get into the coop.
How many chickens do you have? A 6’x5’ coop would allow for about 9-10 chickens depending on the breeds.

I used a similar plastic shed, only it's 8'x8', for my coop. I'll attach a few pics of the mods we made. Ventilation, fan, pop door, roost, and an extra hole leading to the nest box area. The window vents are really cheap and work great. They close at 40 degrees and open at 70 degrees. The fan stays on low in the winter to provide plenty of ventilation without carving out walls for tons of windows. The reflective barrier on the inside of the roof helps deflect some heat in the summer. It's not insulated, but I have buff Orpingtons, cold hardy, and live in Virginia, so it never gets below 0, and rarely in the teens at night.

You'll need to add ventilation. LOTS and LOTS of ventilation.

1 square foot of permanent, 24/7/365 ventilation per bird is the usual recommendation but you can do a practical test by going into it on a hot, sunny day to see if it's any hotter inside than out. If it is then you need more ventilation. :)
