Suggestions on runs that incorporate large trees

Quote:
I don't (yet!) have any day time problem with coons, and the chickens are locked up tight in the coop before dark. The oak tree is not yet giving us acorns...I'll have to research that further:/

I'm happy to find this thread but disappointed not to find any good pix or solutions. I have 2 deodar cedars that I want to incorporate into my run design. I don't want to have to attach anything into the trees or have their growth hindered. I'm looking for a clever design solution to build around the trees but also have the run securely covered as I do have hawks.
Any updated contributions to this thread? I'd be most grateful!!!

My run has 3 medium sized poplar trees in it and I love having them in there. I hang one waterer off the biggest branch and it provides so much good shade for my egg layers and meat birds. Beware though- some hens like to roost in them if you don't keep the bottom branches trimmed up. I don't really have any good pictures though, I'll double check.

Thank you Anna! There are no bottom branches for me to contend with but I want to be able to enclose around the trees for protection without putting any nails into the trees or girdling their growth, so it's more of a design dilemma.
Pix would be most appreciated :0)
Cheers!
Ann
