Suggestions please-July 4th Fireworks stress

Thank you for the responses. I am obsessing over them right now, health issues, are they eating, drinking enough, dealing with bumblefoot, off days of atypical behavior. I notice everything different and new and worry about it all - geez - new momma syndrome I guess. Someone started with fireworks the other night - way too early - a practice run I guess and that's what got me thinking about it potentially being a problem.

I had 4 8wk old pullets in the run during the fireworks. Didn't seem to bother them. I'm sure they could see and hear it all. They stayed on their roost. Were not flying around in a panic or anything. Nighttime does wonders for birds.

I agree, the fireworks are much more apt to bother your dogs than your chickens. Chickens hate change of place worst of all, I think you will worry them more by bringing them into a strange place.

Even if they are a little upset, the only thing that would happen, is they might skip an egg or two, but in a bit should lay as normal.

With as hot as it is, I would be worried about abruptly bringing them into the air conditioning and causing heat stroke. I don't think the fireworks would bother them any more than a loud thunderstorm would. If they already know the coop is their safe resting space they will likely go in if they're scared, and will probably just hunker down silently till the perceived danger passes. At least that's what mine do when something scares them.

Thank you all for these comments and great insight. I didn't think about the temperature change but it is always about 20 degrees cooler in than out. We try to keep their inside time to a limit when administering aid to them to minimize the stress and work as efficiently as possible. Here's hoping all flocks everywhere have a safe holiday.
