We have a "resident" pack of coyotes who live in the wooded section behind my house. They don't bother me much because of my dogs, however they still howl at night.
Early this morning, 0230, I heard a couple of them howling. Who answers them? My STUPID ROO! When most normal roos are deep in LaLA land, this dern fool was crowing in answer to each howl. Did he really think that his puny crows would keep the coyotes away? Or that they were shaking in their furs at his mighty cock-a-doodle-do?
They continued their dueling songs for several minutes, first the coyoyes, then the roo, coyotes, roo, coyotes, roo. Finally my Malamute "pups" started howling, which immediately stops the coyotes serenade, since they seem to be afraid of the Mals.
Of all the roos in the world, I have to have one who thinks he's invincible and can take on a pack of coyotes!
