The weather looks cold for a few more weeks and I wanted to get my ducklings out foraging. I have grown them alfalfa, kale, brocolli etc etc microgreens but of course they will need grit to have this. I saw this in a pet shop (there's no chick grit, only the adult sized which I will also post.
I read about sand being problematic, the last thing I want is to cause them any discomfort or worse, impaction. Do you think this is suitable? Should I filter out the oyster shell since they are babies and not laying females?

I doubt I can even order chick grit online, would love to get them started on greens and enjoying a more natural diet.

yes sand is problematic, and the reason for not having adult grit is that it is too large and could contain oyster shells.
How old are the ducklings?
For mine I used chick grit which I bought on Amazon
You may be able to find the same or similar online

Some 2 weeks on Wednesday others on Friday :)

Honestly looked everywhere, even the mightly Amazon cannot send me chick grit. I'll just have to wait until the weather's better and let them forage their own. The adult grit does indeed have oyster shells and of course it's very chunky.

I'll keep looking though, but everything takes at least a week to get here, from US would be a month.

I presume that mashed banana and chopped egg would be OK without grit and it's only needed to process/digest greens etc? Looking for a way to reliably get the vitamins into the little one with wry neck.

If everything they eat (aside from their crumble feed) is mashed or very fine, I don't see why they would need grit, as the whole purpose of grit is to chew the food, but that is also my assumption
