We have a lovely trio of Black Sumatras, and they're laying like crazy...and have been hatching GREAT (14/16 for the first eggs laid)....but I'm wondering how long it will take for the white to disappear from the wings, and for the legs to darken all the way? The parents have no white whatsoever, and good dark legs with yellow bottoms. I'm also wondering how long it'll take before we know how good the tail carriage will be? Our roo is good, and one of the hens is great, but the other is a bit high.
We're really excited about the Sumatras and will be trying to show them at our State Fair this year.
