There's no such thing. If a chicken can fit, a predator can fit, and will.

That won't do much if a raccoon comes along and simply lifts it open. Or a weasel strolls in.

It would take a lot more than a partially open door to discourage a hungry predator. A lot! A partially open door is an invitation.

You've been lucky. It's just one of those things where there's no middle ground. It works until one day it doesn't work, and you wake up to your whole flock gone...
