Anyone know if it would be possible for the hot summer sun to incubate eggs, 40° day 30° night ?
So I only have 2 mallard hens and I know for a fact neither of them was sitting a nest, when suddenly 5 tiny chicks turn up from nowhere !!! One of the 2 hens claims them and we put them all into a safe compound. We lost one however the other 4 have thrived with her looking after them and are now 5 week's old.
Very interesting colours as well, we have a 'snowy' drake that started off with similar markings.
