I have been thinking about making a small greenhouse (3ft tall x 5 ft long x 3ft wide ish).
The intention is to have a small warm spot they can go in during the winter. There would be a small coop size door.
I only have 2 chickens that stay "cooped up" now that its colder. They dont seem to want to be outside much. I was wondering if they would use or enjoy being in it on clear, cold, windy days.
I havent settled on material, heavy clear plastic sheets, acryllic, glass etc.. maybe a smooth stone floor or straw. It would not be attached to the coop, and the chickens would not stay in it overnight.

Any thoughts?

I'm torn on this idea. Generally, my chickens shun anything I create for them (think dustbath), but on the other hand, they also LOVE to go into the full-size greenhouse in the garden. They like to dustbathe in there, and scratch around for any leftover bugs. If you made one, I'd suggest leaving the ground grassy or plain dirt.

Maybe try a frame with a clear tarp first to see if they like it, before you invest in something more permanent.
