I do a lot of yard work in the summer and I'm always eating sunflower seeds while I'm outside. This is the first year I've let my chickens out to free range during the day and I recently found out that they love the hulls I spit out. They're actually following me around and eating them as I go.
Will too many of these hulls hurt them? This is a daily thing almost and they're even fighting over them sometimes

Hi Morgan B!

It is no surprise that your birds love sunflower hulls! As long as treats and snacks are kept to a maximum of 10% of your birds’ total diet, you’re fine letting them enjoy those sunflower hulls!

For more information on feeding treats and snacks to your birds, check out a recent article we posted to our website: http://purinamills.com/animal-nutri...ltry/treats-snacks-are-they-good-for-my-hens/
