Well, that's just it.. I've given them just about all the treats I can imagine, but i've got sunflower seeds left on the list here, and a ton of seeds to give.. but I'm not sure if they are still too young..

so what age is safe for sunflower seeds, or all treats for that matter?

I waited until my girls were about 3 to 4 weeks old and now they get a big ole handful each morning thrown in the run for them to dig at for a treat and the protien. Just remember the grit for them too.

Give it to them and see what they do. Mine learned quick to open the shell and eat the seeds.

So they're supposed to open up the shell? Mine just eat the entire thing, but they go crazy over them.

Is there a correct way for a hen to eat a sunflower seed?
