Sunflowers--is flower safe to feed?

I often feed sunflower seeds. But what about the flowers themselves? I have a few growing in the horse pasture (b/c the horses get sunnies too and poop them out!) and wondered about offering them to the chix. There's nothing toxic about the flower itself, is there?

Well, sunflower isn't on that list. But alfalfa IS, LOL, and alfalfa's great for chickens. ???

IDK I would think its safe.
