Hey y'all! I'm Rachel, and I'm having fun doing chicken research because I haven't gotten any yet! My husband and I are planning to buy a one to two acre house + property at some point later this year. He's getting bees, I'm getting chickens, and we're both going to be contributing to a nice big garden. I'm hoping to get some Rhode Island Reds, Sussex, and Plymouth Rock (probably going to start with 6 hens). We've got plans to run a very small homestead along with possibly building a rentable artists' studio on the property down the line. We live in Connecticut, near Danbury (picture about 90 minutes northeast of NYC). Outside of homesteading, I like to read, write, cook, bake, hike, and drink wine. Would love to get in touch with any other CT farmers/chicken keepers! Thanks for reading!
