One of my Bantam Cochin/Chocolate Orp girls hid something from me.

Not sure how many babies have or will hatch. My FIL does the morning feed and found this little one.

I don't have any starter on hand, fed it to my main flock after I was done hatching for the year. I guess DH is going to TSC to get chick starter.

My chicken did the same thing however she hatch her 10 eggs and another chickens 7 eggs totaling 17 chick! If you can’t get starter feed today or tomorrow, you can crush up regular chicken feed into small crumbles until you can buy the grower feed.

Congratulations!!
I have grower/broiler, which is what I feed all my birds. I guess I could run some of that through the blender.

Such a cheerful surprise!

I went out and to my surprise, only found 5 of my 7 hens in the run. I look and these two girls are on the main clutch of eggs. There was another clutch of 10 eggs off to the side, but all of them were stone cold. We disposed of them and they were all yolk. I lifted these two girls up and found 5 fully fluffed up and vigorous babies. There must be at least 30 eggs more eggs under them. I didn't inspect them yet. I'm going to let them keep doing their thing today and go out after dark and candle all the eggs.

I'm uploading a video to YouTube as we speak.
