surprised cat

sheep may chase a chicken off but a dog is another matter. take it from a sheep farmer, dogs kill sheep.

and domestic cats(yes-ferals aka wild cats are domestic) RARELY hunt chicken -even when hungry. they are small(feral DOGS would be a huge problem) and would be pretty desperate(HUNGRY) to do such. have had dozens of neutered/fed cats over the 22 years of living off 80 surrounding acres and in 7 years of owning chickens they've shown NO interest. and I rarely have wild predators either but nobody likes my peaceful way of preventing issues. the mice are the ONLY ones I have killed(other than 2 marauding stray beagles(also human made domestics and neglected) that killed 4h buns. see a mouse in my safely contained snap traps appx. 1x a month in warm weather.
