I was working in the run(getting chick run in the big run) had a cord coming through the gate. Closed the gate as far as it would go with the cord being there. Was working looked up and here was our Chihuahua (big boy 12 pounds) inside the run looking around.
He had pawed the gate open enough to get in. I was really surprised that the chickens didn't attack him (3 in the past have had a dog attack them, before I took them in). Or Scrappy attacking them. But they all walked around like he was part of the flock. Scrappy and the hens are all about the same size. He was respectful to them. I got him out of the run as quickly as I could, removed the cord and locked the gate on the inside so I could finish up. He tried to open the gate but couldn't so he sat there whimpering.
Guess he is a chicken lover too

Just careful when they are together, chickens love to peck at the eyes & dogs do like a chase
My Chi/Teri loves to chase the wild birds that come into the yard.
that's funny she won't go in now they are bigger than her. Scrappy has always been interested in them watches them. Once Penny (passed way) charged the fence at him and he peed on her. She never did that again
