Hello,
My name is Carolina. I have 1 week old today chicks, 13 of them to be exact, 1 white Silkie, Blue and Black Marans, Easter eggers, and Bielefelders. They are unsexed and this is my first experience raising chicks or chickens. My husband is still currently working, I have two boys at home, ages 8 and 10. We also have three horses, two goats, and one dog. Looking forward to this experience! Thank you all in advance for all the help!!

It will be very amazing to you when they start laying eggs!

Are you going to keep the extra boys?

I can imagine how awesome it will be when they start to lay. They are growing so quickly but I am also consuming much of my time with them right now. I cant believe it has only been one week! Because I am a beginner I haven't fully decided what I plan to do with my boys. I am thinking to maybe keep one, but I am not sure. Any advice?

Keeping one or two is fine, especially if you want to hatch out chicks from your flock. More than that can be a problem because they often fight each other and will over breed some hens.

Roosters are nice to see in a flock if you can have them. I am not allowed to have roosters in my City
