Hi, I'm totally new to chickens, so some the linguistics might get lost on me. This is my question:
I recently (2 months ago) received five chickens. I noticed a chicken had a messy butt about three weeks ago. I washed it off and in a couple days her butt was messy again. I started closely studying the hen to learn what could be causing it and began asking questions. I began to realize all of the chickens were having loose stools, but one of them in particular was showing significant symptoms. The person from whom I got the chickens suggested a possible cocci infection and how to treat it with Corid. Therefore, I began Corid liquid treatment in their drinking water five days ago.
Most of the stools are looking much better, if not perfect; however, I'm still seeing an occasional semi-mucus tainted stool. I'm only guessing it's coming from the hen that I originally noticed with the messy butt. I need suggestions on what I can do next to help this, and all five of these chickens. I'm postulating this is an ongoing infection, possibly with Corid resistance. Suggestions?
