Sussex broody hen

One of my 2 year old black Sussex's is going broody I have got some fertile eggs to put under her I just wondered if Sussex chickens make good mothers as I haven't hatched eggs from a Sussex hen before?

I don't know what the "norm" is for Sussex, but what have you got to lose...if she's broody, give it a go!!

They are really great mothers!!! I had a sussex hen that gave up her chicks when they were 4 months old!! And all of her eggs hatched.
