Sussex hen

I got my first sussex at about mid sept this year when she was 6months. Now she has never laid an egg at all before i got her and now. but today i was just out and she looked like she was getting her self ready to lay. Shes about 9months now. Is this common uncommon ect. She is also a special gal do to her weird feet never really makes noises and her personality. She also avoids mating by cleaning everyones face in the flock. Weird but True

Im not surw my leghorn i got with her they are a week apart an she lays almost everyday an layed the day after i got them. I just thought my sussex would be one of those odd hens that dont lay

I guess she’s just not an amazing layer or maybe she’s hiding them if they’re free ranging

I was during the summer an i found all the hidden nest my backyard is fenced. Its winter now in maine so they stay in there pen.
