I was wondering if there are any other varieties of the Sussex breed other than the Speckled available in the United States. So far I have only been able to find Speckled Sussex chicks.

As a matter of fact yes! Many on BYC have light sussex (my personal favorite) as well as the buff, coronation (my other favorite), and silver. Here is the link to that group of chicken lovers. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=279509 There are some real beauties on that page. And welcome to BYC. :)

edited because I forgot to mention the silver and coronation. Duh.

Cool and thanks! I wanted to get a sussex but I want chickens for egg laying and read of all the colorations the speckled tend to go broody the most so was looking into the other colors. Now I just need to find one when I'm ready. Haha!

. Hope you enjoy your chicken/s when you get it/them. What colours do you like?

I know how you feel. I'm currently in the processes of moving from GA to NJ and NJ is not a chicken friendly state so I'm searching all the towns to see which few allow chickens. Unfornately it will probably be a few years before I can actually get my chickens but I'm doing all my research and breed picking now. I do like the speckled look but wanna stay away from broody types so I'm getting interested in the light sussex everyone has been mention. Just hope I can find them when I am ready.

You wont have any problems finding them when you are ready. There are many great breeders here on BYC, just pick a breeder and get on their list early in the hatching season, you'll get some without any problems. I'll be waiting with you, however I hope I don't have years more to wait, it's already been 3 since I had my last flock
