I need help!!! I need to swap eggs and I don't know what to do! My hen jus started setting on one egg. Just one. Why? She's acted weird lately. Growling I guess is what you would say, and fluffed up when my silkie gets close to her. I know the egg is infertile but hw long should I let her sit? I have 3 bantam eggs in the incubator at the moment (I'm practicing on the bantam eggs because I'm getting muscovy eggs shipped in the 6th.) Can I let my hen sit until I get the muscovy eggs and put the eggs under my hen? I want to put the bantam eggs and the scovy eggs under her but the bantam eggs will hatch first so that won't work. Will I get low hatch rates if I put the scovy eggs under her? Will they hatch the same as they would under a scovy hen?
