Swapping out Older Hens with Pullets - What to do with 'active' rooster?

I have a very good rooster but I'm concerned for the safety of the pullets after I get rid of all of the older hens. My rooster (King Richard) has been very active with the hens and I don't know if he will try to get friendly too soon with the pullets. I really don't want to get rid of him or spend time trying to sequester him away from the younger pullets. Should I just let them work it out?

If he's a 'good' cock, he'll leave them alone until they are ready to lay.
