Swarming honey bees

This is what we came home and found in the backyard this afternoon.

It was so amazing to see. This tree is only about 40 feet from the garage door. I knew I didn't want them killed but they couldn't stay here. They were looking for a new home and I was afraid they would get in my attic or somewhere else I didn't want them, so I jumped on the internet to look for some local beekeepers. After placing a few calls, we actually got ahold of someone quite close and they were at my house in 15 minutes. They knocked the hive out of the tree into a bee box. They left the box by the tree and came back just before dark to get them. They were thrilled to take them and I was happy they got a new home. I even got a jar of honey out of the deal. I couldn't beat that.

oh, Lucky you, we are losing our honey bees all across our nation and we need them desperately.I am so very allergy to bee stings or any wasp stings, but If not I would have a bee hive in my backyard. marrie
