Swedish duck baby question

Hello,

My pair of Swedish ducks just hatched out nine baby ducks and they are so cute. They are out in the corner of the barn and the babies seem to want to wander a bit from MoM so I put up a pen aound them for a few days to keep they in. Should I put the drake in there too? He seems to want to be in there with them and MOM. He has been a very devoted dad and layed with her by the nest. I plan to leave the pen up just for a few days until everybody is hatched and dry.

Most would say no, being some drakes will kill baby ducklings, since he is so devoted maybe give it a try when you can supervise in case something goes wrong. Being closed up with dad may not be a good idea. as long as he can be close but not be able to get to them maybe the best solutuon till they are older. Congrats on the great hatch.
