Swimming to cool off?

Are they baby chicks? I would worry about drowning. I freeze gallon milk jugs and put them in my coop and rabbit hutch. They really love it.:) Our temp tomorrow is 108, but it will feel like 118!!!!!

Chickens cannot actually swim; in fact, they will become waterlogged and drown if the water is high and they can't actually stand in it. You can try to put a couple of inches in it and see if they will.

Mine refuse to stand in a pan of water, but my friend had a rooster who would stand in her duck pool to cool off.
