So for laughs I decided to utilize the old swing set and cap laying along side the driveway. Two fold reason, clean up the yard and move chickens into area for pasture raising. The pics show progress so far. Hope to have them moved in if I get time this weekend, but unfortunatley my coops wait while I build for others.
let me know your thoughts!! I plan on 2 levels, yes floor will be sealed so that droppings will not fall thru. On upper level (sides) each will have a door w/ hardware cloth while It will have a fold down solid door for winter. The back side ( wing ) door is wjere nesting boxes will go with short 2 rows of roosting bars below. front side window will get hardware wire and lexan with slide in track for additional ventilation in summer. the window faces east so as soon as the sun rises over tree optimum light. the coop is under trees (edge) summer the coop will be in shade by 1230/ 1 pm. but winter without leaves will have sun until about 230-300. plenty of pasture down hill all under shad, then openning into open pasture bottom will be for the smaller chicks and fron will have 2 separate cages for 2 roosters. I will keep updated as it progresses.
