history- starter crumble until 12 weeks, at 12 weeks I started mixing in all flock pellets, now we are a few days shy of 17 weeks, is it safe to start mixing in layer pellets this weekend. We have 10 golden commets so I know we will start to see eggs hopefully soon but I wasn't sure if the calcium in the layer feed could cause issues before they are actually laying. Maybe I'm over thinking lol I just don't want to hurt them.

I would leave them on All Flock for life and just put out multiple containers of oyster shell.

I thought about that, is it because the all flock has more protein? I just bought a bag of dumor egg Maxx 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol so I will have to at least do a round of layer.
Yes. I strongly feel that only providing the minimum amount of protein does not keep a bird in optimal health.

yep the all flock I have is 20% protein! I like some of the extra ingredients in the egg Maxx too, maybe I will end up doing a mix of the two and oyster shells. I suppose first task is to patiently wait for our first eggs and then monitor egg health and bird health once they turn into egg factories. 🤦🏼‍♀️ we were only suppose to have 6 chickens 🤣 weve got 10....lots of people are going to end up gifted eggs. Im glad I calculated for chicken math too.
