My year old pullet has a swollen eye she will not open. This started 5 days ago. She does not have a smell, and is not sneezing or rattling. There appears to be no discharge.

I am new at this so I gave her Epson salt baths thinking she was egg bound as she seemed lethargic.

Then I started thinking it was just her eye so I used what I have on hand -erythromycin ophthalmic ointment and neomycin polymyxin b bacitracin zinc ophthalmic ointment (prescription for my dog by a vet after he scratched his eye).

I also bought vetricyn plus and vetrx.
It has been 5 days with no improvement.

I think she can barely see so the lethargy improved with me giving her watermelon, water from a syringe and crickets. She just ate 8 of them but won’t touch her food. Please let me know what else to do.

Her poop is pretty watery but she isn’t eating other than watermelon and coaxed crickets. I have her in my spare bathroom but walk her around the yard several times per day protecting her from the other ladies. None of the others have this. She tried to look better holding her tail up but they know something is wrong. What could this be? I flush it with saline and have seen no bubbles or discharge. I can’t see the eye at all as the white inner lid stays closed.

Try to keep her drinking, and the watermelon can help. Offer watery chicken feed, and I offer scrambled egg as well to sick chickens. Swollen eyes may be a respiratory sinus infection, or could be from a peck to the eye, or getting something in the eye. Lethargy can go along with a respiratory disease or other disorder. She obviously is not eating well from the appearance of her poops. Worms, a reproductive disorder, or other problems could be possible. She might have been pecked in the eye because she was acting sick. But I would watch for any bubbles in the eye or sneezing. Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin ointment can be put into eyes twice daily for the swollen eye.
