actually, the don't get free range time, and their feed is on the 12/12 system: 7am to 7 pm they eat, then it's taken away. I believe I have about 10 roos in the bunch of (what is now) 25. I just butchered the one I posted about, I don't know exactly how much he weighs, but he's definately not nearly as big as the store bought ones. Pretty expensive, though, that much is for sure!!! He cost me about $8. I'm butchering the others in about 2 weeks, so hopefully they gain a little more (okay, a LOT more!). I've mixed some corn into their feed, about 1 pt corn to 2 parts feed, but from the carcass I couldn't see any yellow fat. They've had that mix for about a good week or so. I don't know!!! Whatever the case, I appreciate everyone posting on this, thanks a lot!!! Say a prayer that those chickens get HUGE in another 2 weeks!!!
