Hi, I have looked through many posts but do not think my hen has bumblefoot.
We noticed on Saturday that our hen, Etta (frizzle polish about 1.5 yrs old), was limping, we found her foot very swollen and yellow sac like areas between her toes. She was fine the day before but was very active and running around the backyard all day. We immediately thought bumblefoot. Soaked her foot in Epsom salts and one side popped open and oozed yellow discharge, the other side did not pop. Her bottom of her foot is swollen but no black dot areas to be seen, applied abx ointment to the areas between toes and quarantined her.
These photos were taken when she was found limping, they are pre-soak pictures.
She had her foot soaked yesterday and drained again but the one side still wouldn't open up. Ointment applied again.
Today after her foot soaking we opened the one side up and drained it. Yellow Pus came out, yes gloves were worn. But the other side that we opened first now looks black, like necrotizing black. We are concerned that this isn't bumblefoot but something different. She still doesn't have a scab on her underside of her foot. She is still eating, drinking, and even egg laying.
This is the picture of her foot today. We are putting neosporin and La200 on it. Any help is appreciated!
