Swollen Foot.

My hen has a swollen toe, her nail is gone there is a little piece fully attached to the toe but the rest is worn off and gone. I do not believe she has bumblefoot because there is no black spot on her foot. She limps when she walks and hasn't been moving around alot, this foot is always up in the air, i am assuming it hurts when she stands on it.
I put some antibiotic cream on a gauze pad and wrapped it in vet wrap. is there something else i should be doing, i can upload pics tomorrow.

I would do this treatment for bumblefoot anyway, as it does not involve surgery:

You will want to feel to see if there are any hard lumps also.

sounds like her toe is infected. you may need to ask a vet to open it up and remove any infected tissue. i would start her on an injectible antibiotic like baytril. watch the swelling, especially if it moves further up the foot.
