Hello, does anyone know how to treat a roosters swollen hock joint? I think it may be due to his injury he had about 3 weeks ago. He fought with one of my neighbours rooster and his leg starter bleeding. I treated it with alcohol and left it to heal on its own. 2 weeks later he started limping and I noticed a big red ball started forming on his hock joint. Everyday he’s having more and more trouble waking. We live in an area where the aren’t vets around so can anyone please give me some advice?

Thank you I’ll give it a try and hope for the best. He will be 2 years in summer. We never had this problem before. He always fights other roosters and occasionally gets beat up but he always recovers from injuries on his own.

How old is your rooster? IF, it's due to an injury, consider getting him started on Amoxicillin 250mg twice a day for 7 days
Just to clarify do you think this swollen hock joint is a serious problem that could lead to the rooster eventually not being able to walk? Or do you think he could get out of it by himself without the amoxicillin?
