Some one please help use figure out what is wrong with our chicken. This is now the second day our girl has had swollen wattles. She is still eating and laying eggs. However she has been rather lethargic and lazy (can't blame her, it looks panful). The swelling is only in the area you can clearly see in the pictures.

We have been praying for her health trusting God. Also have tried giving her a cold wet towel to try and help, as well as rub some ginger oil diluted with olive oil on her wattle. She was outside and still would get up and move a little but then we brought her into the sun room with ac in hopes she can rest a little.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That does help... There are frequent yellowjackets by a watering spot we have set up away from their coop. And spotless (the name of our sick hen) she was hanging around that spot still yesterday when we first noticed and today as well. she cooped up on her own as usual tho...
I wouldn't think she would hang out where she got stung... But everything does line up close to the same as in the link you shared.
THANK YOU!

Just thought to give an update. Our hen Spotless has recovered fully her wattles are almost shriveled smaller than they were before it was inflamed. I believe talkinboutchickens was right and it was just some kind of insect sting or bite. Regardless after prayer and using olive oil with ginger essential oil she has fully recovered.
