So I let my chickens out of the coop today and noticed Sigyn doing a weird lifting/jerking motion so I separated her and saw her crop is impacted/slow, I've given pro biotic water, puked her, (nasty smelling greenish fluid came out twice) and have offered soaked layer feed with pro biotics and olive oil mixed in, I asked family members what treats the chickens have gotten and they have received apricots and Sygin was seen eating a large praying mantis, her crop feels kind of like it has an apricot pit in it

It is soft in most places, swollen and has a small hard lump in the middle of the swelling, in the afternoon heat she has wilted quite a bit besides being in shade and having a friend with her. She is maybe only 10 weeks old

Got her to puke up a few tablespoons of liquid and used a dripper to shoot about a teaspoon of olive oil down her throat (not the trachea)

She's drinking some here and there, and when I massage on her crop she spits up gunk so i figure the oil might coat the blockage and make it easier to pass

If oil is aspirated into the lungs, it can cause lipid pneumonia, so oil can be bad if vomiting a chicken. I don't have experience with treating impacted crop myself, but many others seem to feel that oil can make the impaction more gunked up and hard to pass. Many impactions are caused by a bunch of long grasses. I hope you get her straightened out.

We found out that what was stuck was an apricot pit and we gave her an Epsom salt drench to help with the sourness in her crop,by this morning I rubbed on her and felt nothing obstructing her crop, she is bright and excited to forage with the rest of the girls, even pecked an older gal to get out faster,I am worried about liquid getting into her lungs so I'm considering getting Duramycin to treat any future infections.and we did not vomit her after giving the oil, but she did cough when I gave her the Epsom salt drench.
